Hi! I’m a postdoctoral researcher (and teacher) in the Psychological Methods and Statistics Lab at the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg (UOL) in Germany. I completed my PhD in the UK, investigating the neural correlates of facial mimicry in children with Autism. I moved to Germany at the end of 2019, completing my first three-year postdoctoral position in the Differential Psychology Lab at the University of Hamburg, working on the CoScience Project. Since January 2023, I have worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Psychological Methods and Statistics Lab at the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg. My work lies at the intersection of EEG individual differences research, psychological metascience, and methods development. A central focus of my research is improving the credibility of inferences drawn from EEG by addressing individualisation, psychometric quality, robustness, and transparency of neural estimates.
Since 2026, I have been Principal Investigator of the DFG-funded ERP4IDR Project (A systematic analysis of Event-Related brain Potential parameterisations for Individual Differences Research), which systematically evaluates individualised, single-trial approaches to ERP parameterisation, focusing on whether they produce estimates that are reliable, unbiased, theoretically plausible, and robust to defensible EEG preprocessing decisions. These insights are used to develop and validate a novel algorithm for individualised and dynamic parameterisation of ERPs, with the aim of strengthening the methodological foundations of EEG individual differences research.
Alongside ERP4IDR, I have been involved in several projects aimed at improving research transparency and credibility, especially in relation to analytic flexibility, multiverse analysis, and the reporting of robustness in neuroimaging research. As part of this work, I joined the METEOR project within the DFG-funded priority programme META-REP, where I led the Multiverse Analysis Task Force, and became an Associate Junior Fellow of the Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg Institute for Advanced Study, where I used fellowship funding to establish an international collaboration group on psychometrics and transparency in psychophysiology.
I also co-lead the UOL Psychology Department’s Open Science Interest Group (OSIG). Through this role, I have organised the first Oldenburg Open Science Conference, launched a ReproducibiliTea journal club, supported the integration of open science into teaching, and contributed to broader open science networking, including OSIG’s membership of the German Reproducibility Network.
Other research projects I collaborate on extend these interests into adjacent methodological and interdisciplinary areas. These include work on fine-tuning large language models for scientific knowledge extraction, with the goal of supporting more scalable and transparent evidence synthesis; projects on replication terminology cohesion, which aim to reduce conceptual ambiguity in how replication and related terms are used across fields; and EEG hyperscanning research, where I contribute to work on inter-brain synchrony and social interaction. Across these projects, I am particularly interested in how better measurement, clearer concepts, and more transparent analytic practices can improve the credibility and cumulative value of scientific knowledge.
Over the years, I have built a strong foundation in EEG, individual differences research, metascience, and quantitative methods, alongside extensive teaching experience in basic and multivariate statistics, differential psychology, biological psychology, cognitive psychology, and social neuroscience. I am passionate about contributing to the scientific community through publications, workshops, conference presentations, scientific committees, networks, peer review, and mentoring.
